호주의 전주(all states)는 아니지만 특정 주 (VIC, NSW 등등..)은 자동차 등록을 할때 자격이 있는 정비소에서 일종의 자동차 정비 체크소류인 RWC(roadworthy certificate)를 필수적으로 제출해야하는데요.
2023년 220불/ 멜번시티 한인정비소기준 이었습니다. 이 비용은 ONLY RWC발급 이구요.
발급되기위해서는 고쳐야할 곳이 있다면 추가적인 비용을 내고 고쳐야합니다. 그러니 자동차 상태가 별로 안좋고, 오래된 연식의 차라면 차를 구매하실때 수리비용까지 계산에 넣어야 합니다. 안그럼 자동차 등록이 어렵기 때문이죠.
대략적으로 정비소에서 체크하는 항목은 다음과 같습니다.
What is inspected
The inspection is a check of the vehicle to ensure that the key components are in a fit condition for safe road use. It includes:
- wheels and tyres
- steering, suspensions and braking systems
- seats and seatbelts
- lights and reflectors
- windscreen, and windows including front wipers and washers
- vehicle structure
- other safety related items on the body, chassis or engine.

200불 + 정비비용을 들여 발급받은 Roadworthy certificate는 유효기간이 그렇게 길지 않습니다. 발급일로부터 2주(14일)이니 참고 하세요~
Vicroads 에 따르면 트레일러나 아래 첨부된 리스트의 경우 RWC가 필요하지 않다고 합니다.
You won’t need a Certificate of Roadworthiness for these vehicle types:
- a brand new heavy trailer (a trailer with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) greater than 4.5 tonnes)
- a light trailer (a trailer with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) of 4.5 tonnes or less)
- a recreational motorcycle
- a motorcycle being registered on the Farm Bike Scheme
- special purpose vehicle – plant based.
